To me, yeah, not paying for coffee and robbing a bank are both stealing. Checking out a hot POA in line at the bank is not like banging my favorite cashier at the grocery store.

Note to self: Don't use cashier as example any more.

If Jesus was right then it really is the same.

"Whoso looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adultery with her already in his heart" Matthew 5:28

I didn't come here to preach though. I just was just curious what you guys thought since you all seemed like fairly normal and decent people.

Jesus and I will just have to disagree on this one.

And from what I can tell, there are a lot of decent and "fairly normal" guys who post here regularly. I could give two fucks whether they go to church or not. It wouldn't change my opinion.

I think that there's a difference between finding another woman attractive and even having sexual thoughts about her and actually wanting to have sex with her. Just my opinion.

It's normal to have sexual thoughts about other woman besides your own, and almost impossible not to unless your libido is way down on the low side.

well i'm 24 and getting married soon and was just wondering if get any easier or if it's always this hard*

*intentional pun

Yes, it's always that hard. Honestly, it shouldn't be a problem, just accept that you are bound to look and have thoughts about other women. It's natural.

The problem is when you act on those thoughts.

It's like my wife said, if I didn't look at other women or have the occasional thought about them, it means one of 2 things:

1. No sex drive
or
2. Gay

Just as long as I don't touch. If that ever happened, she'd probably cut my penis off and throw it out of the window of a moving car.

I'm a decent person. You can be a decent person without being religious.

But why the fuck would I ever want to be normal?

Is this a trap if I say yes?

well it depends if youre gonna stay in here and continue to cast stones or join the convo without being a judgemental d bag.......

"of their flesh(of the swine another name for pig) shall you not eat, and of their carcass you shall not touch; they are "unclean to you"
[Deuteronomy 14:8]

BOOM...

That's Old Testament bro. Pork became ok from the New Testament onward, so bacon is good to go. Whew, trap averted.

But seriously, I didn't attack or condemn anyone. I just asked about something that I struggle with and was shocked that most of you guys don't think it's even a big deal. I guess I didn't have to call that one guy "weird," but on the other hand I'm sure plenty of you judged me too and I don't think any of you are d bags. I'm not going to change my mind about certain things but I'm still pretty tolerant of people who are different from me. I'm not one of those fake Christians who supposedly loves God but looks down his nose at everyone.

odd. i guess i missed the part where the 10 commandments and the adultery you speak of werent first mentioned in Exodus. isnt that old testament?

You're taking this verse out of context.
It's saying that if you feel temptation inside, you haven't done anything wrong, but the possibility of fulfilling your inner thoughts exists as temptation grows so better to nip it in the bud. Years ago there was little concern of acting upon your inner thoughts, but as the world advances and opportunities become easier to act upon to fulfill temptation, it's better to erase your inner thoughts of desire to prevent acting upon them further.
If you continue to read your quoted verse, under the title 'Adultery of the Heart', it will clarify for you.
In reality, there is no direct mention of pornography in the Bible. It's left to interpretation from association, as you've done above.

For the record, I've counted I believe 4 things thus far you've done that go against the Bible's word yourself while contributing just on 1 page here. Pointing a finger at someone else yields 3 pointing back your way my friend.

Please stay and join us, it's a lot of fun in this thread. If you feel otherwise to someones statements, do not hesitate to reply. If you do so, even if you wish to quote the Bible, just do so with courtesy and not accusatory. Your thoughts and replies will be well received by most if not all in here (the regulars for sure), but nobody here wants to be spoken down to. We're all the same.

Welcome to our group.

Love the pics, man. Keep them coming. I'll be flooding the ED&BM threads with them soon enough.

Oh yeah. What do you call a stereotype that's 100% true? I could tell you stories.

How many Chinese guys can you fit on an electric scooter? 5. No joke. I saw it. On one of these:

Oh yeah, and didn't you know that you can pick and choose from the OT since the New Covenant thing started?

I just felt the baby kick for the first time!!! Holy shit! Awesome!

I know it's kind of an attention whore thing, but you know. Just throwing it out there.

That just made my morning.

Even reading this made my morning. I remember this experience as well, and it's amazing. All I have to say is, in a few months, you won't have to worry about feeling around for the baby to kick. Literally, they'll kick so hard soon that you will actually see babies foot stick out like an imprint. It gets ridiculously aggressive, and is hilarious, crazy, and a shade creepy all the same haha.

This is a good time for you. Fantastic.

You didn't miss anything. The 10 Commandments are from Exodus which is Old Testament, but there is nothing I know of in the New Testament that says adultery is cool now. However there are several verses in the New Testament that say go ahead and eat whatever meat you want. Good thing because I love bacon.

Welcome to our group.

Yes I agree about nipping the problem in the bud. Constantly lusting after bitches changes you and it will be easier to cheat on your spouse.

I didn't count how many non-biblical things I said in this thread but if I was perfect do you think I would be looking for advice? The first part of being Christian is admitting you are a sinner. I;m not speaking down to anyone here.

I was the first person to reply to your initial question 2 pages back. Your response towards me off that was that you 100% looked down upon me, laughed at me, judged me. You even made reference to James (Equus) a few posts back that you spoke down and condemned me when maybe you shouldn't have.

Do you not remember this?

For the record, I've seen enough Christian vs. Atheist/Agnostic/non-religios/every other religion threads to last a life time and I didn't think Gunz And Money was going down that road.
With 7 or 9 regulars we have in this thread, I wasn't even sweatin' it.
Basically, what JMac said, Welcome to the discussion and I hope this thread is as cathartic for you as it is for me.
