Sadly, that funny gif makes no sense. EA is quite in tune with the mindless zombies that make up today's gamer. All EA cares about is their bottom line. It's not just EA either. Everyone is doing this pay to play/win model, because it works.
DLC is one thing, but you know what really blows my mind? That gaming companies have actually convinced people to spend real money on fake money. That shit takes the cake. I regularly play this poker game on my phone. Everyday I log in, I get smashed in the face with ads to sell me chips. Now keep in mind that this game(I think it's Pokerstars) gives away free chips every four hours, in case you're tapped out. If you seriously can't wait four stinking hours, for free fake chips, to play a poker game that costs you no money to play, and has no limitations or cap on how much fake money you can make, there is something wrong with you.
"Hey, they're giving away $30,000,000 in fake money, for a mere $20 of real money. Damn, that's a pretty good deal."
There are people....MANY people, who actually think that. Some say Mike Judge hit the nail on the head with that flick "Idiocracy". In some respects, I think he was being a little too optimistic.
