With UFC 223 around the corner I've been reading more and more about El Cucuy. The dude is a seemingly bizarre character. That got me thinking, who is the strangest or craziest person outside of the octagon? Mayhem Miller comes to mind right away.

Crazy story, but years before he was arrested a poster on sherdog shared a story on here about meeting him outside an mma gym. He said he looked homeless and was asking for some money, then claimed he had a fight coming up with Chuck Liddel who was still champ at that time. I didn’t put a whole lot of credence to the story at the time, but in light of what later happened I now think that poster was telling the truth

I tried looking for info on this yesterday, and didn't find anything. So I was just assuming you threw out 'He's schizophrenic' in some sort of colloquial sense or just as an armchair MD who doesn't know what they are talking about.

Full disclosure: I know several people that know him on a personal level, train with him, have dated him, etc. More than one of them has used that word to explain his antics. In one recent conversation a few months back (this is at a Christmas party), Mr. Miller's name came up, and I asked one of these people whether Mr. Miller had a cocaine problem. This person volunteered that "he's schizophrenic." I had the same question you had, i.e. whether he meant "schizophrenic" in the colloquial sense. This person confirmed that he meant schizophrenic in the clinical sense. That was the first I heard of that. I didn't inquire further because frankly I was not surprised. I never got the sense that it was a secret. I kind of just assumed that everyone already knew it, and that it had already been the subject of several savage Sherdog threads.
