Many churches have lost spiritual focus. So why go to church if you don't learn God's Word and worship him on Sunday? You're just left with a social club of people. And some are just going for themselves. A church full of those people and a church weak on the Bible is really no church at all.

I agree. More church’s and people are starting to serve God their own way and believe that as long as they ‘think their heart is in the right place’ it’s ok; even though God clearly gives the layout of how he’s to be served in the Bible.

Well we won't ever go back to that, but I pray that our American churches preach the full Word of God again and that the Holy Spirit moves in the lives of people. And that people come to an understanding that they are a sinner in need of redemption. That can only come through Christ Jesus.

As with most things, there's a pretty sane compromise. Would you marry a chick who everyone in town has banged? The middle ground between frigid and relentless whore seems to have the best outcome. There should be a tug of war between both sides to keep it in the middle, but if I had to pick one side to avoid complete societal decay, I'd hope the side of sexual modesty and monogamy get a nice fat ass to anchor their side because too much pull in the other direction fucks up about 500 other things.

So I am good compared to what? Well I'll tell you, compared to the average person, I'm ok, sometimes I'm a really good person. Sometimes in my life I've been a really terrible person. But the average man, that is not our standard, our standard is our Father in heaven who is perfectly Holy.

We cannot be in the presence of God the Father in heaven when we die if our sins are not forgiven. How can we be forgiven, through Christ's death on the cross if we repent and believe. Not by works so that no man can boast.

You may be a better person than me @MMAViewer. But it's still by God's grace that you have the good qualities you have, even if you do not believe.

There were bad people in the Bible who will be in heaven. And there will be good people in Hell. The difference, Are your sins forgiven?

* The climate change. It's good to care about the climate but when some believe that facts are irrelevant if it serves a greater good, then it's "religiosity".

I do not think that's the reason.
The problem is that most churches are too bland nowadays, the Catholic church got that way after Vatican II.
So you have two situations:
Hardcore followers think it's disgusting how the Pope kisses the feet of muslims and how priests are pedos.
Average followers are not afraid of going to hell anymore since the Catholic Church says you don't need to be catholic to be saved.
You then lose both.
Strict religions like the Amish, the Mormons and the muslims are better able to hold their followers, as the hardcore enjoy it and the rest are too afraid to leave. The more weak sauce religions fare the worst. Mainstream Protestantism is basically over. Reform Judaism is composed of 80 year old people.
