Well I guess the severity of the response will be a clue as to whether they allowed this to happen or not, a la 9/11. In theory this should actually cause a collapse of Net-and-Yoohoo's government: how the hell can Israel, which dedicates so much resources and personnel to intelligence, get invaded by Gaza?? Obviously this attack was planned well in advance. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Gaza isn’t the West Bank. It’s a closed society run by terrorists through fear and violence. The Israelis have never had the intelligence sources there like they do in the West Bank.

What you don't understand is that Hamas obviously prepared for that. They will take losses of course but this isnt a problem that Israel can just bomb away. People rally to the cause MORE when you just bomb civilian areas from the air.

Hamas isn't Hezbollah, and even Hezbollah is smart enough not to go full ISIS.

Hamas is entirely at the mercy of Israel, the only reason why they don't end Hamas is because they don't want the bad press of murdering thousands in indiscriminate attacks or pushing Palestinians in death marches to the Sinai as Egypt closes their own side of the border.

What I find amazing, is that any criticizing of Israel is met with fierce, almost reflexive, opposition- you are the worst of the worst if you dare suggest they may do anything nefarious to further their own interests, and you can’t discuss obvious realities. It is a fact that Jewish folks own and operate major media outlets that get to shape the popular narrative, yet to suggest that this might skew perceptions is heresy. I’m not sure if this is due to the absolute demonization of middle easterners over the past several decades, or due to the fact the sympathy after the holocaust, or something else… regardless, it’s seems very irrational and counter productive.

Putin made a deal with them, Chechens are currently governed by other Chechens and they get massive subsidies from Moscow to keep things quiet. The average Chechen is not bothered and humiliated by Russia on a daily basis, their homes are not demolished. If Russia was treating Chechnya the way Israel treats Gaza the Chechens would still be fighting on the streets of Grozny. Palestinians would kill to have what the Chechens have.
