I came from a MT/Yaw-Yan background and had training with a few Lakay Wushu guys so I throw a lot of spinning back kicks. For me, the best counter is NOT of let your opponent set up that kick in the first place. Prevent them by constantly moving and finding your range. I would say trying to jam...
...Set up your punches with kicks just like what you did in 1:28 of the last video. However, don't telegraph them just like some of your teeps.
*I thought it was very irresponsible of your trainer to spar at that level without shin guards. Trainers should think of their students' safety first...
Here's a vid from what I would like to call the "Freddie Cam". Enjoy the vid!
YouTube - Amazing POV footage of Manny Pacquiao
It's amazing how low pac's guard is when punching and how he gets away with it with his speed. Not a lot of fighters can get away with that. I hope more...
The translator made the vid much more funny. It's obvious that Mayorga is talking dirty while the translator looked like she was trying to make it as clean as possible
Sorry for the very very very late update. I took a hiatus in Martial Arts after I launched a new business. Anyway. I decided to go on with the fight but unfortunately I lost. It was only a 2 round right(we were actually expecting 3) but I gassed out in the 2nd round(I know this is outright...
As a grappler. I would say that grapplers dont really like getting hit in the face and we tend to flinch a LOT! It was awfully hard for me to get used to the idea of standing up and banging. More sparring(defensive sparring will help too). Just a question, does maia still train with wanderlei?
I don't care if he improved his striking or not coz we won't stand a chance against anderson if he'll bang with the spider! He needs to get the TD or pull guard ASAP
Had the same issues when I fought for the first time. Although I spar a lot, we don't have a ring in our gym and that made me a bit uncomfortable in the ring and I pretty much forgot my gameplan and looked really sloppy.
if I have extra money then it wouldnt hurt to buy that one but it wouldnt be in my priority list. I'll only recommend this if you already have a heavy bad and some solid fundamentals. I see this as a good supplement but not a substitute to the heavy bag.
Aryt, here's the story. 2 weeks before my fight we had this really hard training and all in all I registered 8 rounds of sparring plus some roadwork which I've never done before since I'm just a newbie and this is my first fight ever. I felt good about the sparring but upon reaching my house I...
In addition to that, Gerry Penalosa(Former World Champ) has a gym in Manila and Pac currently trains there since his training in Baguio was ruined by the storm. There's also several BJJ gyms why not drop by our gym we also have Muay Thai under Muay Association of the Phils. BJJPhilippines
