Think about how they killed the slasher genre? And how SCREAM, in the 90's, revived it?
Meta/self aware filmmaking didn't even really become a thing until Tarantino pretty much invented it in the 90's.
I'll always think From Dusk Till Dawn and The Faculty are his best, even though they really aren't. But they came out when I was in high school so they were the shit back then.
I feel like starting with Sin City his movies became a lot different... going for that over the top grindhouse cinema...
