Joe Rogan on UFC title shots: "There isn't any clear structure."

People get annoyed by this, but it makes for a better fif less fair product. I don't think people realise it, but I think most would be less fans of MMA if it was confined to such a structure.

"This is the first time we can say Jones is putting in some work." - Jones' manager

If he didn't really train much prior to this, then how did he not only progress in skill level from one fight to the next, but continually add new elements to his game? I think the rumours must be exaggerated.....if not he's a potentially extra scary motherfcker.

So Uriah Hall's got the biggest fight of his career coming up

We are all big fans of Uriah Hall, so let's do THIS: When I say "URIAH...." You say "HALL!!!" Let's try this thing.

Soon Uriah Hall will face Gegard Mousasi, what are your thoughts on this?

When are we getting an update on Jon Jones?

Perhaps it's because MMA fans tend to bitch and whine when UFC acts like a business rather than some noble institution..... I don't know, but maybe Dana is influenced by that.

When are we getting an update on Jon Jones?

Well, if it can drag on forever, he should get back in the gym and fight pretty soon. UFC should not keep him banned. If it drags on and he THEN has to spend time in jail before returning to the Octagon, then it will be too late, he'll be over the hill by then. Let's see Jon fight soon...

When are we getting an update on Jon Jones?

So what's the deadline for him to be sentenced, non-sentenced, or whatever? I miss Jon Jon in the UFC. At least there's Conor, but Bones is the Michael Jordan of MMA and we need him back (especially YOU really need him). :icon_cry2

Why do some people have a problem with Conor being in TUF?

He won't be talking that much trash on the show, I don't think. He doesn't need to get inside the mind of his opponent. Rather, I think he will be trying to install confidence in his own team while projecting his own image as a unique fighter.

    Is Anderson gonna fight against?

Just saw Silva vs Diaz, and it looks like he could put in a classic performance next time, if there is a next time. He had some ring rust and some mental issues, obviously, but we saw glimpses of the loose, brilliant, Spider. I know you wanna talk steroid test and what not. If Silva did...

Why do people admire huge LWs, WWs... etc?

It might be more fair and safer if no one cut weight, but it makes things more fun, with different body types facing each other. It's like a slight slight version of the way it was when there were no weightlimits, and you could have a huge guy against a small guy.... only it's not as extreme...

When are we gonna get the conclusion on Jon Jones' sentence?

I'm supposing it can't just drag on forever, or can it? Is there like a deadline for when the trial or whatever has to start? Hope to see Jon Jon back in the cage, BACK in the cage, that is.

Anderson Silva: Im sick of all the lies...

He does have a point, if he used steroids (excluding to recover from his injury, which has been proven, and which I think he should outright admit), wouldn't he have a more muscular frame? If he's the type who uses steroids, why would he face way bigger opponents in Japan, and have a less...

Cain V rep -If Fedor had been UFC champ, would people have been saying he was boring?

I think Cain is talented but boring. I actually am surprised at how many fans seem to enjoy Cain's performances. I've seen more complaints that Machida is boring, which to me is absurd. As for Fedor, they're totally different. I mean, neither say much, but Fedor's silence is a part of the...

Are there any kudo fighters in MMA?

UFC should try to recruit some talented kudo fighters. Only reason why kudo isn't more popular is that it hasn't been properly marketed.

Are there any kudo fighters in MMA?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsaT5ozfVcA Are there any MMA fighters with a background in kudo? They tend to have a very direct karate approach, kyokushin like, and use techniques similar to judo and jiu jitsu (that is the original Japanese version not BJJ). Kudo fighters are legit...

    Ask John Makdessi Anything!

That's why you'll need the hook punch to mask the pivot (while also utilizing it) so you'll be sideways and ready for a quick sidekick or hookkick.... also good to use the same set up for both as it will keep the opponent guessing.

    Ask John Makdessi Anything!

The sparing I do isn't at a high level, and a lot of times it's with a kickboxing ruleset, but I find that the jab cross hook, or any combination of punches ending in a hook, serves well to set up either the sidekick or the hookkick.... That's if you're not fighting in a sidestance like...

    Ask John Makdessi Anything!

I wanna hear if he has ever needed to use his martial arts to defend him self or others outside the cage. :)
