Can you mod one of our regulars over in S&C/F13

I didn't say the reported posts from S&C specifically are bullshit, that was an assessment that included all the reported posts from all forums.

I linked a previous thread, that linked another thread, that had previously addressed the issue of a new mod specifically for the S&C forum.

Only one of them is sometimes active in f13, all others are posting in other subforums or simply are not active anymore.

The big problem is, that the bullshit f13 mostly has to deal with is the same, over and over again. I guess it has always been like that, as all that stuff is covered in the "forbidden threads"-wiki. People start to get very tired of having the same discussions all the time, hence the (light) flaming, abundance of .gifs and stupid jokes.

What we need is an active f13-poster as mod. Somebody that understands why there is the huge list of forbidden topics, actually reads the forum and can act on its own. There are, as LegioTitan stated, lots of people that would fit in that category.

Yeah, but we're back to square one. And I think that's a problem. I also think the majority of f13 members are too stubborn to hit report. Should I just PM DMF and ask about this ? I'm cool with whatever.

If you have so many forbidden topics, doesn't it stand to reason that the remaining topics that can be discussed are going to be redundant? And to be honest I find some of the mild flaming and jokes directed at the noobs in those threads rather amusing.

Seriously, I've moderated my share of threads in there and you guys seem to have quite a time pwning the noobs that broach a forbidden topic. And when you report them, you don't usually request to have the person given an infraction or even have the thread deleted. The common request is to lock the thread, which I find kind of unusual.

This is one way to look at it. And any visible mod presence is better than what is currently being done.

Of course, simply responding to reports works fairly well.

It is tried, but people coming to f13 with stupid ideas or plans can and should sometimes not be ignored. Also there is always some poster, usually not a f13-regular, saying "Yeah, that's right!" or "Yeah, start Rushfit". Posters in a forum devoted to S&C on the highest possible level, possible for everybody in their own situation, do of course not like to have unaddressed myths, wrong claims or stupid training ideas in their forum.
It's also just bad for Sherdog. People visiting f13 the first time shouldn't be confronted with a 1:1 ratio of "How to get toned?!"/"Bitches made themselves known because of my triceps!!11!11!"/"How do I do better at this CF-WOD?"-threads and quality information and entertainment.

And I wouldn't actually call most of what is happening there flaming. There might be posts near the line, but it is not crossed usually.

If i were you, i'd be thankful there arent many mods around and that there are few reports.

Interestingly enough, we (this use of we means many posters) have been asking for more in the way of active moderation for some time. If threads that were reported were handled promptly, much of the crap that goes on would stop.

It's not the actual S&C-talk that is redundant, it's more as if people tried to play bingo with the forbidden topics.
And yes, we like to have some fun, derail threads and just chitchat, but a Pub-thread would be a nicer place for that, than the next "Oh look, Fedor uses a wobbly plate, how awesome are wobbly plates?!"-thread...

Posting pron isnt the right way to do it, some of the people attending this forum are 10-12 years olds, thus why it gets you an instant permanent ban.

Unless you dont give a fuck about them, them why not simply stop posting, its an option as well.

Anywas id opt to take a break, come back tomorrow, it will be all good, and you can keep posting in the forum you've been enjoying for awhile now.

How many days does it take nearly 30 mods to respond to one reported thread that clearly violated the forum rules? This is the point that some people are trying to make, and have been trying to make for some time (see previous threads both here and in the S&C forum).

I imagine it is kind of annoying having new people ask questions, but it's a public forum. All you s&c gods were newbs once. Pretty sure the pride fan boys felt the same in the heavies when TUF was first aired.

Here's an honest suggestion. Go plat and have an s&c thread. All the the regs could post in it and it'd be like a mini forum without the white belts. Problem solved.
