Elizabeth Warren Releases DNA Test Showing "Strong Evidence" of Native American Ancestry

Uh, I could see it playing out either way, and certainly Warren thinks this will lay the issue to rest. Or maybe its a controlled burn to clear out the silly underbrush prior to the primaries.

I'm not so sure this will help her, given the flimsiness of the results.
I think it supports exactly what she claimed, but, to your point, I am certain that almost everyone who cares about this topic would never have been a Warren voter anyway. Still, it does keep the facts on her side when she's attacked for it.

Haha did I say i care? She is an absolute moron so of course I don’t care. She speaks for the president so I was curious about your opinion.

Not everything has to be an attack man.
You’re still posting about it. They sell antifungals for that if you want to fix it

It's probably less than the average Native ancestry most white Americans have. Anyone have the numbers on that? I think Warren just proved she is whiter than most white people. This puts the alt right in a tough spot.
LOL, she didn't do her tale any favors.

Looks like you hacks will have to go back to the cookbook plagiarism scandals.

people are fuckin' bored out of their mind and feel the need to shit on the other side. I am surprised I am spending so much time defending her in these threads... it's like.. "what da fuck are you people still bitching about???"

The right is mad that their primary epithet against her in 2020, "Pocahontas", has been rendered null and void. All they have left now is "socialist". And, of course, "woman".

she obviously mentioned something to Harvard. They didn't proactively make up that she was native American. ..This whole situation was caused by statements she made.

She didn't bring it up in a political context. It was something that first Brown's opposition team dug up and then Trump and then GOP hacks started harping on. SBJJ and other Republicans were suggesting that she thought it would help her political or academic career.

This is why people hate politics, BTW. Here you have someone who is extremely intelligent and highly ethical, was a leader in her field, and has made a lot of good policy suggestions, and hacks have boiled her essence down to the fact that she once mentioned that she had a distant NA ancestor. Republicans get killed if the discussion is about issues so they always try to make it about identity.

Source on 99.99%

According to the Boston Globe, the vast majority of her ancestry is European...6-10 generations ago is when her Native American ancestry can be claimed....at this point her ancestor could literally be Pocahontas

At worst we’re talking.. .09

The average American is .18 Native

I don't understand the world anymore.

Correct, she is not a native and she is pretty white. What do you think about Kelly Anne Conway calling her DNA test junk science?
"I haven't looked at the test," Conway told CNN's Abby Phillip. "I know that everybody likes to pick their junk science or sound science depending on the conclusion, it seems some days."

"But I haven't looked at the DNA test and it really doesn't interest me," Conway added.

Btw you lied. There’s the quote.

But Inga is polite about it and a very nice religious person. That means it's ok to smear people and double down on the hackery. Just remember your please and thank you!

Still salty abut getting dunked on in the Kavanaugh thread, huh?

SAD!

You could well be right here, and if so, Warren made a smart move here. But it's possible a white person passing themselves off as a racial minority might play badly with large parts of the Dem base as some sort of appropriation. And I don't think this DNA test establishes any facts that are particularly helpful to Warren. I think she might have been further ahead foregoing making the results public rather than demonstrating that she might be ~.09% Cherokee.

I never quoted her. And haha, of course it doesn’t interest her when it makes her boss look like more of an idiot

I do try to be polite, so thanks for noticing.

True. But she kept up the image with statements like

"But I knew my father’s family didn’t like that she was part Cherokee and part Delaware. So my parents had to elope."

Do you believe anyone would be racist against her mother who would have had about an 8th of Native American blood. I have a hard time believing that.

I've noticed you've thanked me several times on the politeness comment, but seriously, just stop lying and we'll be cool.

I do like that you're polite as I much prefer to disagree with folks like you. But the lying and partisan stuff is just too much.

So she along with about half of the US has a part so small that it's nothing.

Get back to me when she is emitted to the rolls.

From the report:

"Conclusion. While the vast majority of the individual’s ancestry is European, the results strongly support the existence of an unadmixed Native American ancestor in the individual’s pedigree, likely in the range of 6-10 generations ago."

Hrm... I'm not really sure what this says about what qualifies as being an indigenous person. Is one ancestor six to ten generations ago usually sufficient to claim indigenous heritage? Any which way, her claim is at the very least technically true.

Remember that he claim was that she heard she had a distant NA ancestor. Hacks then acted as if she claimed to be fully NA.

Ummm back in the day?.. fuck yes. Her parents were born in 1911 and 1912 so we talking 1930-40s. pretty sure racism was more widespread and open then..

I just found out I'm 1.2% African American, I'll take my reparations in cheque form please, plus my status as a marginalized minority as well.
