Sigourney Weaver, Aaron Paul, John Turturro, and Ben Kingsley to Join Christian Bale in Ridley Scott’s Biblical Epic EXODUS

11boym8.jpg

An Alien reunion is in the works. Ripley herself Sigourney Weaver has been tapped to join the cast of director Ridley Scott’s Moses epic Exodus, along with John Turturro (O Brother, Where Art Thou?) and Breaking Bad star Aaron Paul. Scott is putting together an impressive cast for the pic, with Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton already set to play Moses and Ramses, respectively. Variety reports that Weaver will play Tuya, the mother of Ramses, while Turturro has been tapped to play Ramses’ father Seti and Paul is in talks to portray a Hebrew slave alongside Bale’s Moses. Additionally, Deadline reports that Ben Kingsley is in talks to join the cast as a Hebrew scholar.

Steven Zaillian (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) penned the script for Exodus, and Scott is looking to start production in September in England, Spain, and Morocco. This will mark the first time that Scott and Weaver have worked together in quite a while, though Exodus will see Weaver playing a considerably different role than that of her Alien heroine.

Mitch Hurwitz Says ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Movie in the Works

arrested-development-cast-slice-012.jpg

Arrested Development season 4 ended on a pretty big cliffhanger. It was a bold move by creator Mitch Hurwitz because there was no guarantee the show, which had been off the air for seven years, would reconnect with audiences. Especially since the entire structure was radically different. But it did. Season 4 of Arrested Development was a big hit for Netflix and everyone wanted to bring it back, as long as Hurwitz had an idea.

The question became, would he make a movie like he had originally said years ago? Or would the show simply come back for another season on Netflix? Though nothing has been decided on legally, Hurwitz has finally made his decision. He

First 3 Action-Packed Clips from David Twohy's RIDDICK

Riddick-Fights-Monster-0827-Dragonlord.jpg

Universal has released the first three clips from Riddick. The first clip proves that while it may have been nine years since Riddick's last ride, Vin Diesel hasn't missed a step in the alien-killing department. Not only will Riddick slice open any extraterrestrial beast that steps to him in action star slow motion, but he'll do it whilst cradling an adorable space-puppy in one arm. The other arm is holding the equivalent of a giant exacto-knife, which is a handy tool for disemboweling snappy alien predators. The next two clips give us our first look at Dave Bautista, Katee Sackhoff and Jordi Moll

I can't believe their idea for Riddick III was Riddick I.

Yeah but I like that they're going back to the basics. Chronicles of Riddick, though entertaining, wasn't the direction I expected them to take the character nor the inclusion of a more fantastical world.

Let my people go....bitch!
Lolz.

New Japanese Trailer for 47 RONIN Starring Keanu Reeves

2n65e0i.jpg

A new international trailer for Universal’s upcoming tentpole 47 Ronin has landed online. The Carl Rinsch-directed film stars Keanu Reeves and centers on a troupe of banished samurai who long to restore their honor and find vengeance against the treacherous Lord Kira (played by Tadanobu Asano) who was responsible for the death of their master. This Japanese trailer is considerably shorter than the domestic cut, but we do see a few bits of new footage and the focus is on Hiroyuki Sanada’s character rather than Reeves’. At the very least the film’s near-$200 million budget looks to be all on the screen. The film also stars Rinko Kikuchi, Kou Shibasaki, and Jin Aksanishi. 47 Ronin opens in 3D on December 25th. Click HERE to see the US trailer.

Synopsis: Keanu Reeves makes an explosive return to action-adventure in 47 Ronin. After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai (Reeves)—a half-breed they once rejected—as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors. As this exiled, enslaved outcast becomes their most deadly weapon, he will transform into the hero who inspires this band of outnumbered rebels to seize eternity.

Duncan Jones’ WARCRAFT Set to Begin Filming on January 13th

World-of-Warcraft-Title-Card-Dragonlord.jpg

The World of Warcraft movie is finally coming to fruition. After Legendary showed off a highly promising reel of test footage from Moon director Duncan Jones’ adaptation at Comic-Con, the studio announced that filming would begin in early 2014. Indeed it will, as Production Weekly now reports that filming on Warcraft is officially slated to begin on January 13th in Vancouver. Casting has yet to be announced, but if the January date sticks then we should expect to hear word on that front very soon.

Recent rumors suggest that the film will be a full-blooded fantasy pic in the vein of The Lord of the Rings, and it’s said to more closely follow the real time strategy video games from the mid-90s instead of the current iteration of the game—that will be saved for further installments in the potential franchise. Warcraft is being eyed for release in 2015.

Stef Dawson Joins THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINJAY as Cresta

Australian actress Stef Dawson has been cast in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.
The little-known actress will play Annie Cresta in both part one and two of Francis Lawrence's Mockingjay films, which will be released in November 2014 and 2015, respectively. The character is taken from Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games novels, in which she is a former victor of the fictitious Hunger Games from District 4 and a love interest for Finnick Odair, played by Sam Claflin. Annie has a brief role in the second 'Hunger Games' book, Catching Fire, but the character will not be introduced in this year's movie of the same name.

Dawson has previously had roles in Australian TV shows and movies such as Manhaters!, Shadow of the Monarch and Wrath. British actress Natalie Dormer - best known for her roles in Game of Thrones and The Tudors - recently joined the final two instalments in the fantasy franchise, also. She is set to play Cressida, a filmmaker who runs away from the powerful Capitol and helps heroine Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in her ongoing rebellion. The second film in the franchise, 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire', is out in November.

While there have been no official casting announcements in regards to Star Wars Episode VII, the rumors continue to fly fast and furious. Now, Latino Review is reporting that both Rachel Hurd-Wood and Alex Pettyfer are up for roles in Star Wars Episode VII. Hurd-Wood is reportedly auditioning to play the daughter of Princess Leia and Han Solo, but it’s unknown what role Pettyfer is auditioning for. Speculation points to Pettyfer auditioning to play Luke Skywalker’s son. Neither Hurd-Wood or Pettyfer has landed their parts yet, as things are said to just be in the audition and meeting stage.

Alex Pettyfer got his big break in the 2006 spy film Stormbreaker. After that, he has appeared in I Am Number Four, Beastly, In Time and Magic Mike. The 23 year-old English actor can be seen next in the 2014 romantic drama Endless Love opposite Gabriella Wilde. Rachel Hurd-Wood is known best for her role as Wendy Darling in the 2003 film Peter Pan. Her other works include Solomon Kane, Dorian Gray and Tomorrow, When the War Began.
