Played yesterday 1/3 NL got in about 4 hours of play with breaks to stretch and hydrate.
My best play in a long time. Table was overall soft with a few regulars who are good players. Ended up +$550. A lot of small pots in the $20-$30 range, a couple of larger pots that were just over $100.
Had a swing about 2 hours in that saw me drop $100 or so off of my stack. Took a quick walk to get some air and think. Played some iffy hands out of position.
Cards weren't great either, a lot of suited gap and connecting cards that I got to play on the cheap (thanks to the soft table). From there I just tried to establish some control of the pot and dictate odds. I bet my way to a couple flushes, straights and boats.
2 hands are sticking in my craw where I think I could have played better. One had some serious potential, could have been worth up to $120-200. I flopped second pair with a King high flush draw, but the odds weren't there so I folded to a pot sized bet on the flop. Thing is that player was a bit of a dope, and I still feel like he was bluffing or semi-bluffing. I believe I made the correct play, but still...
If I really maximized all of my opportunities, I probably could have picked up another $200 or so. It was a good day, now all I want to do it read and take notes on it. I haven't had a session this smooth in a long time, I'm most proud of how I limited my mistakes throughout the day.
