It's laughable to compare his career to GSP's.

He has time to add more to his legacy but at this time I still would not put him over Hughes.

Stipe is more likely to defend against Tom if he win then Jon is yet the UFC and Dana have no problem with it.

Dana's whining about "Contractually Obligated" to defend applies to every UFC champion. They have to defend, vacate or be stripped. GSP could have held onto the UFC MW title for months or years and left the UFC, Whittaker and the MW division in limbo but he chose to let them move on without concern for clinging to the title like McGregor did.

Bulking up? GSP walks around at 185, he doesn’t need to bulk up to 205 and then cut down to 185.

1. The real question is not whether Dana believes this or not (he doesn't) but rather why he believes he can say it. Obviously it will get refuted on Sherdog, but who cares. The real answer is he has a media monopoly and an (overall) idiot fanbase who buys any horseshit he pushes. So he likely thinks "well no reason not to say this". It is the benefit of a braindead/slave caste surrounding him.

2. Completely off-topic, but I think people here are seriously underestimating a STOPPAGE win over prime Burns. Arguably Kamaru's best win of his whole title reign possibly. That + the 5 round domination over a champ-Tyron likely.

Fighters that evolved and stayed with coaches that trained new generations.

Maia improved a ton in his striking/takedowns to stay relevant, Masvidal also improved a ton.

The Maia that fought Anderson Silva would be killed by the Maia that fought Covington.

He was 192lbs for the Bisping fight. And that was him trying to add muscle mass and having issues medically. Specifically with his stomach. Every champion is "Contractually Obligated" to defend. GSP didn't "Pinky Swear" he was contractually obligated just like all the others. The contractual stipulation is defend, vacate or be stripped. GSP fulfilled his contractual obligation, Dana just didn't like it.
 
Usman might barely squeaks past Hughes if at all (still a toss up in my mind)

Comparing him to GSP is laughable.

He signed a multi fight deal, he negotiated that he would fight a number of times.
