Sad that UFC fans are becoming WWE fans

OK, we all know UFC value much more a sloppy showman than a skilled "boring" guy.

From a sport perspective, Since when being "exciting" and " throwing heat" win figths ?
Its the same to give a soccer team who made most beautiful driblles the win over the one that score more goals.

I'm ok if you think DDP won (even through I dont agree)

But I'm really disappointed to see that a lot of people are picking dricus to win because of Sean's lack of "bloodlust" , or cause he was throwing only jabs.
Jabs aren't strikes ? Did you already got hitted by a square jab in your face?

I know UFC are going further and further away from being a "sport" and becoming a "show", but as a fan of combat sports I think its really sad people judging figths picking the most exciting man to win just because of that aspect.

Marching foward throwing explosive movements aren't always the most smart and skilled thing to do, aggression means nothing if you are punching the air and the guard

I'm gonna say again, I dont mind if you think DDP won, but I dont think saying Sean is boring fighter is a plausible justification.
i'm gonna watch it again and try hard as possible not being biased

Been like that for a long time. I made a topic ressembling yours when I created my account, over ten years ago.

Driscus won but not because Sean was boring. He won because he clearly took one round and convinved the judges that his work was better in two close rounds. Many people agreed. I agreed. So there you have it.

a lot of these people hating sean strickland are triggered liberals.

they are grasping at straws to avoid realizing the failures of their world view.
Ah, they live rent free in your mind. You triggered, beta, snowflake, participation trophy, etc. Fox needs to give you guys some new material to parrot like window lickers.

Alot of MMA fans were already WWE fans.

Bottom line is people like to be entertained. That's why we watch sports. Different people find different things entertaining but when the majority are saying "boring", you can't really blame the fans. Its one of the few instances where the customer is always right. It's your job to entertain them, not their job to adjust to you
Not really.
A sport is made by their rules, scoring criteria and etc.
The fighter that throw flames in the crowd are rewarded with style points, he get more opportunities, more visibility and money.

But the match itself shouldn't got those intangibles as criteria to win.

If you're losing a basketball 67 to 35, but made the most beautiful plays of the year, awesone dribbles, do a backflip after every point you win the match?
You probably win some fans, maybe a better contract, but not the match.

For what reason you think it?
Its not gonna change anything, but if want to talk about your point of view I will gladly consider what are you saying when I'm rewatching the figth
Thanks.

Not sure if you'd care but if you go to youtube you can see reaction vids from Mighty Mouse, Volk, DC, Izzy, Suga Sean, and Bisping to see why they think DDP won. I get why you wouldn't care about a Sherdogger's opinion but surely those guys know a thing or two.

Becoming?

Years and years...

Tbh I'm leftwing myself.
Dont agree with Sean politically, but UFC is a sport and should be judged by the tangible aspects.
You should be rewarded/punished by what you do, not what you say.
The political reference was from another thread and some posts in this, not yours.

Even in strikes landed but I liked his work and level of shots better+ takedowns and presure. He simply offered more and wore on Sean. His kicks were on point.

Yeah, I'm gonna watch some of those analysis.
Thanks for addressing some.

Funny seeing UFC fans acting like they’re better than anyone. MMA has the dumbest fanbase in all of sports and in the early days the UFC copied the success of the WWE.

They are the worst of the worst. I'm starting to ignore those woke fools, I don't care anymore about their delusional opinions or arrogant ignorance.

No sir, we're not better than anyone.
But I know you aren't a stupid guy and know that WWE Ins't a sport, and MMA are.

Not gonna judge who likes to watch WWE, but that is just entertainment, nothing about skill, Y'know

But DDP got wobbled at least 2 times in the figth, Shouldn't it count as damage ?
OK he landed some takedown, but what he does with it? Dont advance positions, no GnP, No sub attempt...
he landed a takedown for .002 seconds, and there wasn't any sort of ground battle to even claim any positions. they were wrestling takedown attempts, that didn't open any sort of ground game, or ground offense, or ground control time. its a total moot point. if DDP had done something with the takedowns, OK. Sean got up everytime

The great philosopher Sean Strickland really does epitomize conservatives in the US. The liberals are quaking in their boots at his regal nobility and wisdom.

To be fair “bloodlust” in the judges eyes is just intent to cause damage. If one fighter is throwing punches with clear intent to finish the fight whereas the other is throwing with the attempt to cause cumulative damage wouldn’t it stand to reason that some judges would value the first strikes as more impactful. Which was clearly the case here and in the cannonier fight (which I thought Sean won)
