Ok ok, I'm late to the party, don't give me $hit.
Let me just say, the Original Trilogy is one of my favorites, and a part of my childhood. I grew up on Star Wars, and absolutely love the franchise. and I'm sure like others, the new trilogy broke my heart.
so like many of you, I was disheartened to see @Dragonlordxxxxx 's review and were like, "WTF?!?!?"
But after seeing the film last night, he was absolutely correct. My only criticism of Dragonlord's review is that I place The Last Jedi @ 3.5/10.
What a complete and total $hit film. Here are terrible aspects of this film.
1) I thought I would never say, "wow, this Star Wars character is actually worse and more annoying than Jar Jar Binks"
Rose (the not so attractive Asian Girl) ruined what could have been a salvageable film.
2) Laura Dern's character watches as half of the transport pods are destroyed before taking drastic action (in what was a cool scene btw)
3) Finn's character is completely wasted, and the subplot to go to that Casino city to recruit a code breaker was terribly stupid. Essentially, Finn and Rose go to Vegas and free a bunch of Greyhounds who are mistreated. (and these actions scenes were terrible)
4) Mary Poppins General Leia going through space, and saving herself after being blown into space was cringe worthy
5) Admiral Ackbar's complete and total anti-climactic death. I'm surprised no one else mentioned this in Dragon's original thread. his death wasn't even given screen time. It should have been him, not Laura Dern would did the Kamikaze light speed into the Imperial fleet.
6) Luke Skywalker...after all these years of waiting, and his hermit-esque life style, we were hoping for a Muhammad Ali like return to the arena and coming out of retirement tour-de-force performance...we are unfortunately met with a reluctant, IDGAF, emo old man.
7) and since when do Cruisers have unlimited force fields? and since when can Tie Fighters NOT attack rebel ships without the cover and support of Star Destroyers?
8) probably the absolute worst scene is when Rose prevents Finn from sacrificing himself into that cannon but flying her aircraft into his. did she not calculate the potential risk in this? that she could have immediately killed both of them? and...and...somehow Finn is able to drag Rose's body all across that frozen tundra into the Rebel bunker WITHOUT being seen by Imperial forces. LOL.
9) Luke Skywalker's reunion with Chewbacca and R2-D2..and his lack of enthusiasm.
10) Chewbacca's character was also wasted...this was a borderline cameo tbh.
11) those Pogs, (owl like creatures) ...this was probably the blatant market merchandise ploy since Billy Blanks released those "forearm stress balls" for his "advanced" Tae Bo classes.
There are many other criticisms, but The Last Jedi was so bad...that I place it in the same category as Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.
The film did have some cool moments, but too few, and could not be saved.
very disappointing.
anyone who rated this 5/10 or higher, your opinions on films will no longer will be respected.
