Total Solar Eclipse

Sun is closer than ever it feels

If we all uppercut the Sun at the same time we might create enough pressure to squeeze it past the Chandrasekhar limit and make it black

*insert a hundred funny jokes here*

*hey, that one went too far*

You might be better off reading the actual Atlantic article to learn what it says, rather than reading third-party rage-porn commentary.

The article notes that there are few black people living along the path, and says that this has nothing to do with the solar system being racist, and then uses that as a segue into the connections between population density and racial demographics.

The fact that they made a article about Race and the Eclipse is just another example of why Trump won.
Who the fuck thinks about "race" when talking about a magical and maybe once in a lifetime event? A poisoned mind.

For the flat earthers how do they explain eclipses?

There's a lot of talk lately that the eclipse does not involve the moon passing in front of the sun. Is anyone else run across this? That it is some other object.
Jesus' butthole.

You are exactly right. They stop short of accusing the sun and moon of racism.

But they still take a cool scientific phenomenon and grubby it up by making it a long, awkward, and forced metaphor for racial prejudice.

Is there anything lefties can think about without making it about politics or race?

Yeah, apparently Vancouver is one of the better places in Canada to view the eclipse. It starts around 9:20am local time. I'm very excited to stare directly at the sun despite the warnings from every living scientist.

I'll be 16 stories up on a roof right on Lake Erie. Hoping to go blind.

The only phenomena that's really interesting to me is the so called shadow lines. I'm curious to hear if anyone sees them

What I've been hearing about the eclipse?

Seriously, thinking that it isn't the moon causing the eclipse is possibly the most insane idea I've ever seen anyone even mention here. Pleeease tell us where you've seen "a lot of talk" saying this?

The Moon people know what's really going on
