Here's what's going on. Apparently, when you're a member of a sufficiently large group to be recognized as distinct by society, you particularly enjoy going to movies that have a positive message about people of your group, and may become particularly disappointed when there is a paucity of such movies about your group in relation to its size. Who would've thought such a thing? The people getting up in arms over it are unable to see things from another person's perspective, apparently. But then, this is the war room, where empathy is shat upon, it seems.

What so many fail to see is that Hollywood is ALL ABOUT PANDERING to identifiable groups.

Throughout Hollywood history no group has been more pandered to then Whites. Almost always the hero particularly when they are saving other ethnic groups who are generally portrayed as savages, like Daniel Day Lewis in Last of the Mohicans or Tom Cruise in the Last Samurai or even more blatantly replacing actual historic (not fictional) non white people with white actors (Moses, Charlton Heston) or white washing almost an entire cast of Egyptians/Middle Easterns like they did in Exodus Gods and Kings.

If you are white generally you do not even notice the pandering because its directed at you and its hard to see things that are your norm as pandering.

Well the Hollywood audience is evolving and changing and various ethnics can make or break a movie and Hollywood has noticed. So as Hollywood does they now try to pander to those groups as well. And that enrages typically the prior white audience who now for the first time can SEE the pandering. All of a sudden after decades of being pandered to they want to draw a line and say 'this must stop', ;it is wrong' and all sorts of other tear filled and rage filled complaints.

But it will not stop. Hollywood gonna Hollywood and with growing ethnic and particularly Chinese influence on the box office there should be no doubt the pandering to other than whites will grow and continue. We should also KNOW that the cries and tears and rage from those who expect to be the only ones pandered to will only get louder. it is what it is.

I haven't seen this movie but this SJW nonsense because there is a black guy in the lead role is embarrassing. We should have moved beyond this shit by now. Stuff like this brings it home to me how many people out there will never allow us to have any sort of equality.

Also, just the term "black panther" and it being used to celebrate black identity is kind of significant on its own, since so many people have been taught growing up that a "black panther" is a evil, black supremacist terrorist or thug (as opposed to a coalition of black people trying to advocate for their communities in the face of varying levels of racism).

Do you have any black friends, especially one that is into super heroes? If you do, maybe ask them its significance to them, instead of writing it off as silly.
