Theft is so bad in San Francisco that Groceries are now Locked Up

oxi-clean-but-wait-theres-more.gif

Why should they nothing is going to be done about it, legally anyway.

Then when the stores close and move away the same people that don't want anything done are going to claim its racist.

It's a cost vs reward. Asking employees for each item you want to steal makes the process much slower. This inefficiency would deter thievery as it costs much more time.

That being said, having a society that is united, properly responds to criminal activity, and tries to improve their local areas is a better approach. However, chains are obviously a quicker and cheaper solution.
not only that, the employees get tired of being bothered, understandably. I hate asking for razors or petty shit. Maybe the future is more amazon or gopuff (local grocery delivery). The thieves don't give a fuck about any of the problems they create for the rest of us.

How does it work when you shop at a store where everything is locked up? Does every customer get a personal shopper?

Something I wanted at Walmart was locked the other day, so I didn't buy it. I went to Target instead. I feel for people who are married to one shitty Walgreens

Well this video of one store settles it- SF has the worst crime of any city, and wouldn't you know it is a woke socialist place, which always has more crime.

Just kidding. SF's crime rate is better than some cities in red states, sorry. Yes, Fox news has been lying to you. (surprise!) You might stop following the shepherd and actually find some reliable crime stats.

Because Memphis has always sucked. San Francisco was a safe city and still is one of the richest cities in the world. Government policies have ruined the city.

Also the majority of those cities have been run by blue state mayors for decades now. And the mayor has much more control over crime than a governor.

Can you acknowledge that California didn't use to be like this and has devolved into a shit hole directly as a result of democratic policies? Like relaxed drug laws, border security, prop 42 and catch and release?

Or is this all just a necessary evil in the name of progress towards something eventually better? I don't understand the long term vision or goal here with these policies which have CLEARLY failed. All of them.

It's pretty funny that you think you have a gotcha going on here. You do realize what the demographics of Memphis and essentially the rest of the top 12 cities are, right?

Also, what do the numbers on the right mean? Could be my browser but I'm not seeing a column header.

Did you get your car broken into there or something? SF is a beautiful city.
I lived and worked there back in 2004. It WAS a beautiful city. Now, due directly to failed policies it's turned into a shit hole. Literally.

To which, when challenged on this fact, the governor simply laughed it off.

Isn’t this thread about retail theft? And doesn’t your own charts put San Francisco @ #1 in larceny-theft validating the thread?

This is about the exodus of business there because of it and the measures taken to prevent (locking everything up inconveniencing shoppers) as a result of decriminalizing theft.

It’s not one video that settles the issue. So many businesses have closed or been impacted by it. This is one video of a huge problem that’s been happening and continues to happen there.

You’re the one moving the goalpost when it’s not a a thread about gun violence or rape. Your own stats back the issue in San Fran.

Not the best comprehension and basic thing on display here.

What are the top five policies that you disagree with and what would you do differently?

So are you saying people in this thread are not pushing a narrative about CA/blue state cities being worse than other places? Bullshit proven to be bullshit; that narrative is being pushed all over the place. Are you actually reading the thread and things people post?

What they are talking with the larceny about is in large part car theft; there is a big problem with car theft. I'd rather have that than violence any day. Are you going to also make a thread about violence in Memphis, or high violence in Southern states? You guys absolutely crack me up. Move the goalpost when you are proven wrong.

I know it makes you feel good to say people you disagree with make terrible cities, but that is unfortunately not true. Blue counties make up 70% if America's GDP (look it up).
