If Randy had of beaten Machida then NO chance he would have retired
I think he would have. Would've been a storybook ending.

Brock retired Heath Hearing
Well by that standard, every retired fighter whose last fight was a loss, got retired by the other fighter? I doubt that's what TS is asking, otherwise there are millions of examples.
On August 8, 2011, Matt Hamill decided to step away from the UFC and MMA, as he lost his last two fights. "Today is a sad day for me. After six years and 13 fights in the UFC I’m ready to hang up my gloves and retire from this amazing sport,"
Yeah but he could have, and he had many fights scheduled but kept getting injured in training. His retirement was unrelated to that fight.
He was fine, actually challenged Fulton to a rematch.
But would you really call.that retirement? In those days most fighters careers consisted of like 1-3 fights. Is that really something you van retire from? I mean in that case Royce "retired" lots of guys in the early UFC's.
Roy Nelson retired CroCop.
Arguably, Matt Hughes retired Royce Gracie.
