Does seeing lies against Donald make you more mistrustful of "truth" about the other party?

Growing up in a left-leaning household, the first thing that made me more critical of the Left was seeing Fox News tell heavy mischaracterizations about people like Obama and (my guy at the time) Bill Richardson. I didn't become more mistrustful because I thought the news reports were valid, but because I thought it would be very strange if conservative news outlets spread propaganda but liberals ones didn't. That seems unlikely, no?

After deciding to consume news from CNN and MSNBC a bit more carefully, I, unsurprisingly, discovered that the information I'd been relying on was equally inaccurate, just pointed at different targets.

This thread is particularly directed at Donald supporters (but I'd like to hear from those opposed to Donald as well) : Does seeing how much Left-leaning news outlets lie about your boy make you reconsider the things you hear about Democrats from right-leaning news outlets? When you see Leftists calling him a racist and taking his quotes out of context, does it make you wonder if Right-leaning outlets do the same thing to Hillary, Bernie, Obama, etc? If so, what impact has that had on you? If not, what makes your news sources different/more reliable?

90% of everything is bullshit

Yes, absolutely. Although non-msm right leaning news outlets have a much better track record than left wing ones.

I dont trust either side, these mother fuckers only looking out for themselves.

I learned that lesson the hard way, by sitting in S-2 BUBS in Iraq and never hearing shit about WMD's minus some expired VX gas.
Instead of putting boots to asses of some fucking saudi's

It's been pretty glaringly obvious that the news, especially cable news is propaganda, as long as I've payed attention.

Remember 2008 Fox News... so bad.

This CNN gem is a bit before my time, but the idea that anyone would believe this is astounding.

Pretty sure everyone sees through the liberal media these days. That is why Donald Trump is the king of the world.

Fox News has to be the opposite of the liberal media because if not them, then their is no balance.

This isn't really what the thread is about. What I'm asking is if seeing how dishonest the liberal media has been makes you wonder if the conservative media is lying to you. For example, are colleges really as liberal as the media shows them to be? Is anti-fa really instigating all that violence? Is BLM really a racist hate movement?

well i can first hand confirm yes on all accounts. i am from california and its worse than you could imagine.

Maybe behaving like a classless piece of shit every day of his life and lying constantly has earned Trump all that negative press.

Here is one in your time.

Fox News' Favorite Trump-Loving 'Navy SEAL' Turns Out to Be a Total Fraud

Here’s a Friday afternoon shocker for you: Someone associated with both Fox News and the Trump administration has been (gasp!) less than truthful about his personal credentials.

This week, Jon Garofalo—who presented himself to Fox News as a Vietnam veteran and Navy SEAL with 22 military commendations under his belt—admitted that, actually, he’d never served in the SEALS, never earned a Purple Heart for his service, and had never been anywhere near Vietnam during his stint in the Navy.

The news comes nearly two weeks after Fox News ran a hugely popular segment about Garofalo—who’d carved a massive presidential seal as a gift to Donald Trump—which lauded his military accomplishments. Before being pulled from Facebook, Garogalo’s star turn had racked up an impressive 1.5 million views, the Navy Times reported.

No, they don't.

That's obvious. Anything the NYT prints that is negative about Trump is "fake news", but they they spend a three-week circle jerk over Harvey Weinstein when it was that same paper that cut him down. Of course they don't introspect. Only intelligent people do that, and intelligent people don't support Donald Trump.

They just don't.

Every news outlet is chucked full of so many logical fallacy’s on a daily basis I don’t understand how so many people take them seriously. It’s unreal.

This is proof you're under 30 and new to politics.

If you think that even comes anywhere close to the cringeworthyness of vintage Fox News, you have no idea what you missed.

You told me you liked Hannity, so I assumed you were a big Fox fan.
No Im not new to politics or under 30 you homo. You seem to think that lying as much as you can is politics, you may be the one who is new to politics, especially new politics the con man is bringing to the mouth breathers who dont mind being told lies on a daily basis.

You realize at that time I was a democrat, right?

I've always been aware of the Fox News bias, (and huffington post bias is pretty obvious too) but only when Trump began running for president did the biases of the MSM (CNN, NBC, New York Times, Washington Post) become readily apparent.

As a libertarian myself who never identified with either left or right(I used to attack them equally on their BS), I've been pushed further and further to the right by the MSM's uniform bias against Trump and their embracing of the most extreme aspects of the left, like antifa, socialism, and SJW culture.

To address the OP more directly, yes, the lies, exaggerations, and double standards are REALLY obvious at this point, and it not only makes me mistrust the media, but the democrat party as a whole.

So where do you get news from?
It hardly matters.

No matter where you get your news from, you'll run into a degree of bias. I think the secret is just being aware of the bias so that you can know which parts to be skeptical of.

The news generally gets the facts right, but it's when they insert their opinions that they run into the logical fallacies, double standards, etc.

If by "take them seriously" brawler means taking them at face value, then I can agree with him.

Only intelligent people introspect?

From what I've seen, you don't usually sound this arrogant, bitter and resentful. People who go down that road certainly have their ability to introspect hindered.
