If the American left calculated she could win overwhelmingly and hold together the kind of minority voting blocs that President Obama commanded, I sincerely doubt their pragmatism would overcome the desire to grab that voting coalition with both greedy hands.

America isn't a monolithic entity. It consists of individuals and in this case, people who fall under various umbrellas. The key factor here is that Democrats don't hate Trump because he's a TV celebrity, they hate Trump because he's against what they stand for. They want to elect their own "crazy TV celebrity" in the same way that Republicans flirted with Bobby Jindal, Michael Steele and Herman Cain after Obama's victory.

Oprah is absolutely perfect for that role. Mark my words. If she runs, it's going to be like trying to stop a runaway train.
