Report: Stipe Miocic vs Cain Velasquez being targeted for UFC 216

Ok. Sherfolks: help me out with this.

Amanda Nunes pulls out of one fight and she gets the "never headline another show" tag. Even after she main events two of the biggest UFC shows ever. She implicitly called a "coward" by the UFC's CEO.

But Mr. Cain Velasquez may receive a title shot (since it's HW, a main event spot). This is after fighting only twice in 4 years and pulling out more times than something that pulls out a lot.

Cain pulled out for documented injuries. Stupid to give him a title shot but not in any way comparable to Nunes.

Oh because you said it's not comparable means it must be true.

Go away noob. I will write whatever I want. Keep your dumb opinions to yourself.

UFC 215 has disaster written all over it.

Very good possibility that BOTH Cain and Nunes fail to show.

Stipe and Valentina will have to square off in the main event, porno style.

Cain vs Reem was an obvious fight to make... and Werdum vs JDS/Ngannou winner
This.
Cain has done fuck all to deserve a title shot.
Pickings at HW are slim, but id honestly rather have Reem get a rematch, or just let Stipe sit and wait for the winner of Cain/Reem, Cain/Werdum, or Ngannou if he won.
Cain shouldn't get a TS from a win over Browne. He should be rematching Werdum.

I swear the UFC fucking sucks at making fights that make sense. The rematch of Cain vs Werdum, or JDS vs Werdum (because those two have beef) would sell on it's own without having to be for a title.

Fuck the world....Cain coming back for whats his......

healthy Cain defends that belt for years to come

<GinJuice>

Then you wait until a star is born. This constant need to have champs fighting is for the birds when theres no intriguing matchup.

meh. I'd rather have the champion continue to defend. I know it can seem redundant to have the champion fight guys he's clearly better than, especially at HW where they can't move up.

But that's literally what their job is, to fight. And I'd rather see the champion fight someone than not fight at all. Because waiting for another star to be born could take an eternity and doesn't make much sense.

Cain's pull out game is the best in MMA. I think CV needs to retire he's too banged up, hell he might hurt himself at the weigh-ins just getting on the scale.

Cain needs to fight a couple of more times before he gets a title shot. He only has one victory in the last three years (Travis Browne- who has lost 4 in a row). Guy barely fights once a year. Mistake for the UFC to give this guy a title shot now. Let him fight Werdum next.

"winner is HW GOAT"

{<jordan}

I'd like an objective explanation as to why it's so laughable. Can Stipe do ANYTHING to pass Fedor? He ALREADY is on the most impressive streak in HW history.

"Derr...he can NEVER make up for losing to Struve. PRIDE NEVER DIED!"

Love you guys.

oh yes, you`re the pride hater, nvm

The org folded a decade ago. I loved Pride (and all MMA for that matter).

"Pride hater" makes you sound like a jaded 15 year-old.

Awaits minowaman's Demond Wilson gif.

This is actually an interesting match up, but not confident Cain will be healthy enough to make it to the fight.

I'll believe it when they're both standing in the cage with that spaz Buffer announcing them. Kinda like the Jones v.s Cormier fight coming up supposedly.

With that said... Stipe knocks Cain out in 2 rounds.
