Sherdog's Top 10 NBA Players of All Time

I didnt rank him that high

Just saying thats a weak argument. Jordan needed pippen too, and then benefitted from arguably the greatest rebounder and defender in history in the second 3pt. Magic had kareem norm nixon, and worthy. Bird had DJ, parrish, mchale

Shaq did jack and shit without a dominant wing...and was carried by wade clearly for his 4th ring

Yet hes also in everyones top ten, including mine

Hakeem was an absolute stud in the 80s, but wasnt until he had a better all around supporting cast and jordan and magic retired that he won a chip....

U can nitpick anyones accomplishments is my pt.

Of course everyone had help. The point was the irony that Kobe is considered GOAT/near-GOAT by many, yet (1)was not considered the most valuable player on his team through most of the ring years, (2)never carried a team to a ring the way some players(eg Dream, Dirk) did who generally aren't held in as high of regard. In this context, "carried" means you were the sole star player on your team.

What's funny is that out of the top 10 ATGs no one other than Jordan has won titles with less help than Kobe and even that is debatable.

Kareem won his titles playing along side Magic & Oscar(2 greatest pgs of all times). Magic has Kareem and Worthy. Bird had Mchale and Parish. Shaq had Kobe & Wade(the 2nd and 3rd greatest sgs of all time). Lebron had literal super teams. Duncan had 4 hall of famers, Pop, and the Spurs front office. Russell had hall of fame teammates at every single position. And Wilt had big 3's for both of his titles.

Yet Kobe's out here going back to back with Gasol & Odom.

Experts agree that Pua was the actual 2010 FMVP

Kooby 2008 Finals: 98 ORtg, .405 fg%, 4.7 rpg, 23 turnovers
Gosal 2008 Finals: 111 ORtg, .532 fg%, 10.2 rpg, 13 turnovers

I think that, post 2000, making the finals in the lEast should be considered about as valuable as making the finals in the 50s or 60s when their were 9 teams and 3 round playoffs. Lebron should get as much credit as Elgin Baylor for making it to the finals 8 times.

Lebron is always getting praise for taking a bum team to the finals but what people fail to mention is that Slight and the Question took even bigger bum teams to the finals. Even Wedgie and Domestic Kidd won the lEast with JV teams.

Yeah LeBitch only knocked out a championship-caliber former champ Pistons team to get to the Finals

Kobe UsageRate: 32.5
Pau UsageRate: 18.3

No one questions Pau's ability to execute the offense once it's set up for him. We just needed him to stop KG once in a while and grab a timely rebound or two.

Pffft, the Pistons were 3 yrs removed from their championship days. The only notable leastern team Roids has faced in his entire career are the Celtics.

It would help if Kobe could actually pass him the ball or if Kobe is gonna insist on being a one-man offense, at least do so somewhat efficiently

Kooby: 131 fga, 98 ORtg, .405 fg%
Gosal: 62 fga, 111 ORtg, .532 fg%

Pfft the Pistons won 59 games and had the NBA's 4th best SRS the following year

And lamo, the 60+ win Cows and Paces weren't legit opponents I guess

Upon further review of the 2008 Finals, Kooby has now officially dropped out of the top 20. Not a good Finals player. Sad!

Nah...

4x NBA Champion
NBA Finals MVP
6x All Star
4x All NBA
Olympian
Avg'd 18-20pts and 6-7asts per game during his prime

Chips don't matter when it comes to the HOF. He was on a good team and he was a good player on that team. THat's it.

He only broke 20ppg twice and he only broke 7 apg twice. His all NBA teams were a 3rd and 3 2nds.

He's in the Hall of Very Good not the HOF

Tony Parker was more than a good player on the team..he was the finals mvp. But hey...we don't have to argue about it. Time will tell if Parker is a HOF or not.
