Was an epic show. Was just reaching climatic developments with Underwood resigning and seeing if his wife (ala Hillary/Bill power couple) would pardon him.

This whole "rape/molest" coming out taking down half the Hollywood is crazy. Almost a hysteria.

If it was up to me, I'd let Kevin Spacey molest some of you guys so we can have Season 6 and hopefully 7.

Netflix severing ties with Kevin Spacey amid sexual assault allegations

Following reports that Netflix may kill off Kevin Spacey's character on "House of Cards," the streaming service announced Friday that it is severing ties with the actor.

The move is being prompted by multiple sexual assault allegations against Spacey, who stars as Frank Underwood on the series about political intrigue in Washington, D.C.

Also scrapped was a Gore Vidal biopic that Spacey was reportedly developing with Netflix.

“Netflix will not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey," Netflix said in a statement, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "We will continue to work with MRC during this hiatus time to evaluate our path forward as it relates to the show."

MRC refers to Media Rights Capital, the production company for "House of Cards."

"We have also decided we will not be moving forward with the release of the film Gore, which was in post-production, starring and produced by Kevin Spacey," Netflix added.

News of the cut ties followed a Varietyreport Friday that producers were considering killing off Spacey’s character and have the show’s sixth and final season focus on his villainous wife Claire, played by Robin Wright.

MRC was reportedly concerned that recent sexual harassment allegations against the 58-year-old Spacey would make it difficult for the cast to continue working with him.

Production on the show was suspended Tuesday, two days after actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of assaulting him when he was 14 years old and Spacey was 24.

Consequently, Spacey was dropped by his agency and publicist Thursday. Then on Friday, Britain's Scotland Yard open an investigation after a male actor claimed he was sexually assaulted by Spacey in London.

Allegations against the actor continued to mount as eight crew members reportedly came forward with assertions about sexual harassment and groping on the set of the streaming drama.

CNN reported Thursday that eight people close to the production, which shoots just outside of Baltimore, have come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct from Spacey that allegedly made working on the set a nightmare.

All eight accusers have chosen to remain anonymous, but claim that the behavior was very well known on set and that it created a difficult work environment.

But both Netflix and MRC claimed they had received no reports of any widespread misconduct.

“When the allegations broke about Kevin Spacey on Sunday night, in conjunction with MRC, we sent a representative to set on Monday morning," Netflix told Fox News in a statement.

"Netflix was just made aware of one incident, five years ago, that we were informed was resolved swiftly," it continued. "On Tuesday, in collaboration with MRC, we suspended production, knowing that Kevin Spacey wasn’t scheduled to work until Wednesday. Netflix is not aware of any other incidents involving Kevin Spacey on-set,” the company said at the time.

I’m not watching house of cards with just Claire. She can’t carry that show.

The greatest trick Spacey ever pulled was convincing the world he wouldn't grope their genitals.

Yes Hollywood it's your time.

"Your heart was lifted up because of your gifts and admiration
You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor.
I cast you to the ground;
I put you before everyone as if naked
That they may see you.

"By the multitude of your iniquities,
In the unrighteousness of your trade
You profaned your gifts and opportunities
Therefore I have brought fire from the midst of you;
It has consumed you,
And I have turned you to ashes on the earth
In the eyes of all who see you.

"All who know you among the peoples
Are appalled at you;
You have become terrified
And you will cease to be forever.”’”

I still can't believe Spacey's career imploded overnight. What a crazy week it's been.

Not advocating for sexual assault, or harassment, and if these allegations are true, Spacey belongs in prison.

BUT, this becoming a meme. One person says person X,Y,Z, did something inappropriate, and boom, there is suddenly dozens more alleging the same. Every single time.

I think companies should investigate these type of allegations instead of just saying, "guilty af he did it. fired!". I remember when Rumble Johnson got accused of domestic abuse, during the same time the Ray Rice story was big. UFC pulled him from his fight, hired a law firm to investigate and turns out Rumble wasn't even in the country during the time these incidents supposedly occurred.

I will also add, Spacy's response is weird and a dead give away he is on some weird shit. Most likely guilty. BUT, there has to be some procedure in place to protect the innocent who are accused. How can someone stop one of their enemy's from paying every ex, or random person who they came in contact with from making allegations.

In cinematic retrospect, I'm not sure this'll taint many of his important characters performances.

Wouldn't it be funny if they killed him off with some pedophilia angle. :eek::D

people didn't know that kevin spacey was gay? i thought he came out a while ago? he approached this whole thing the right way, by being completely open about it, and preempting future allegations that may come out.

I don't think you called this one very well.

The entire time, Freddy's Ribs was a front for a pedophile ring. Who the fuck saw that coming!! I guess now we know why Underwood went there so often, and insisted on being alone.....

They should just kill the show completely. A clean break. All the main characters are defined by thier connection to Underwood, and it's impossible to seperate that character from Spacey and the allegations against him. The entire show is damaged goods. Netflix needs to put it out of it's misery and move on.

From dust to dust. ;)

The self aggrandizement of man is amazing and comical all at the same time. It's almost like this guy personifies the hollow arrogance of man even without his depraved obsessions.
Arrogant indulgence incarnate. Why some people worship his type.

well, I watch the show and want some sort of ending even if it's a movie which starts out with Frank Underwood having just been assassinated. They already had an attempt in the show so it's not that far fetched.

Far superior shows than HoC have been cancelled and left fans without a definitive ending to the story. In any case, HoC has been shit for a long time. Anything after season two isn't worth watching.
