We may experience a temporary downtime. Thanks for the patience.
Long time guys! Suprised to see this post still going. I have opened two gyms since my last post so I have been quite busy. Have also cornered a few more fights and here is the deal with the Epi get in good with the ringside docs...You will see the same ones every fight. However, you will find...
I found the petroleum jelly will only hold so much of the Epi before it just does not mix anymore. As for the other coagulents don't mix them at all.
This reminds me of something that happened at the fight At the instructions before the fight we were told that anytime we remove something from...
and thaks for the kind words guys. We all gotta learn together this is a growing sport and cutmen who really want to get better and care about their guys are in high demand. You guys rock!
As far as I know these are not allowed in fights. Even the OTC nosebleed stuff was yanked from my bag. Better go online to make sure. To my knowledge all that is allowed is Adrenaline 1:1000, Avatene and Thrombin. In mma matches I think the need for Thrombin might not come into play...
Thanks a ton guys. Like I said it was a learning experience. If anyone wants to be a cutman you must understand it is not a glorious role. It is stressfull and you better be on your game and understand the fighter your working with. Make sure to ask if they have had any cuts previously and...
Wanted to get a debrief from all the guys before I posted. Fights went ok. First fight I didn't corner. It was called by the ref in the second because our fighter did not respond after being told to improve. It was hard for him to give a thumbs up with both hands defending a RNC. It was an odd...
New update ***
At the weigh in I decided to make my way over to the ringside official and introduce myself. The Doc apparently trains in BJJ and had a ton of respect for my Gym and it's grappling pedigree. When I asked her about the Epi/Adrenaline she was kind of curious how a lot of cutman...
Put the word out to a cutman for hire here was his response.
First of all I would like to thank you for checking out cutman4hire.com. The only medication that I use when a fighter is cut is adrenaline 1:1000. When I first started as a cutman I didnt have it available to me so I would use...
Here is an update. I talked to the nurse that worked at the walk in clinic that does our stitches. She acted like I asked her to score me some sweet black tar heroin. Obviously a no go. Put a call in to the boxing commision to try and find a Ringside doc that might be in the area. I could hear...
Ok, so due to my limited background in first-aid I have been asked to work cuts for some of our fighters. I am having a difficult time obtaining the coagulants allowed by our states boxing comission adrenaline, avatene and thrombine. Anyone know how to go about getting these? I'm going to ask...
I work at GNC (granted only 4 hours a week) but I know what I'm talking about. Read some of my posts. Blanket statements about anyone are 50% wrong 100% of the time :icon_conf
Although this one in question is clearly an idiot. BA is going to be the next big thing right up there with creatine...
I was a big Romo fan back in the Bronco days.Howevr, I make my own supps like you suggested and keep them on hand at our facility...most of our fighters ar broke so I try to help anyway I can.So I'm going to try it on this athlete. With Physician approval of course. I take meticulous notes so...
Joel,
I have a question about something you stated in a previous post. You mentioned ADHD medicine having an effect on trianing. Which after seeing that I thought DUH! I have a guy who has a higher than expected HR prior to each session. However he has been an athlete for a while and could not...
I don't know about your recovery drink but it should have about .8 grams of dextrose per kilo of lean body mass. Try some light sled dragging a couple times a week.
Take a look at EZA's post on HOW TO FINALLY SOLVE YOUR CONDITIONING PROBLEM. There is so much to take into account that no one can (or probably be willig to ) explain all you need to know. EZA did a great job and touched on the most important aspects. A great place to look is cyclist training...
Thank You!! Now, Could you say this in a more condensed form so I can make it my sig? :D
