Alternate timeline: if Shogun, Crocop, Wanderlei Silva never went to the UFC.

TS forgets that Shogun, Rampage, Nog, Silva, Werdum etc all became UFC champions.
And they are from the same time as Sylvia, Chuck, Franklin, Hughes, BJ etc.
Everyone gets old.

Alternate timeline: You leave the house and do something constructive and never make this shit thread.

But they are not considered "GOAT".

Noone is saying Fedor wouldn't be good. But would he still be anywhere near contention for "GOAT"? Nah.

This.
And let us not forget that Fedor beat both top ranking guys from the UFC (Timmeh & AA) at the time they were at their best... and KTFO them.

Noone thinks that about fedor, he got beat by hendo, bigfoot and werdum who all fought in the ufc. And maldonado knocked him out about 7 times in one fight

Maldonado is such a warrior. That was surely the worst MMA decision ever.

How about:

Alternate timeline: cro cop, shogun and wanderlei come to ufc in their primes and before all their injuries.

Cro Cop would have won the HW title, but Wand would get mauled by UFC wrestlers. Both Couture and Ortiz beat any version of Wand inside the octagon, via takedowns.

Shogun in his prime was always worse than Wand. All the stories are out now -- they fought in the gym and Wand wins. Prime Shogun loses to prime Liddell in the UFC.

People would have regarded them as highly as Fedor if they never did. They could of stayed in Japan fighting Japanese cans and over the hill UFC fighters and be revered as GOATS.

Before they came to the UFC.
"Shogun is going to destroy Forrest Griffin. He's MWGP champion, young phenom!"
"Wanderlei Silva is going to go berserker mode on Chuck Liddell"
"Crocop is going to run through the heavyweight division. Everyone going to the cemetery"
Rampage, Gomi, Nogueira, Kid Yamamoto. All of them were "superior" to UFC fighters. And we all found out there's a difference between fighting cans and fighting the best fighters in the world.

People say Fedor not joining the UFC is due to terrible management. If anything, Fedor had the greatest management ever. His whole legacy as the "GOAT" was held on to by a very thin thread pulled by good management.

How many Strikeforce champions, Bellator champions, WSOF champions who were thought as the one who can beat current UFC Champion X came to the UFC and never escaped the middle of the pack.

Alternate timeline: If Fedor had joined the UFC. I am sure Fedor is different. Of course if he had joined the UFC he would of destroyed everyone.

But Werdum is yet another Pride fighter who went on to become UFC champion.

werdum spent a long time working on his striking with cro cop, back in pride he was very much just a bjj guy. fedor now is the same old fedor he ever was

TS you are an idiot.

Fedor was often fighting 4 fights a year of which two fights were legit contenders and two were cans.

Pride knew top guys finishing top guys was not as likely to happen so they let top guys get fights with cans to build their Finish record and highlight reel.

Non-alternate reality: Kharitonov made a serious effort to come to the UFC, accepting the offered (crappy) salary, accepting the exclusive and adhesive UFC contract, etc.

Dana backed down, probably because he didn't want to see the Russian Second Banana tearing Couture a new asshole

... a lil bit simplistic, Im afraid...

It's true though. Top guys in Pride were very active. You can't expect to have them fight top competition all the time if they fight that frequently. Pride knew how to build up fighters way better than UFC ever did.

You're skipping a big chunk of Shogun's UFC career, in which he became LHW champion. You don't think winning the UFC belt was a big part of his legacy?

He would've gotten old regardless of if he was in UFC or outside of it. Fedor is losing fights in much the same way Shogun is.

One of the big marketing advantages that Pride had over UFC was they allowed fighters to share videos and do interviews whenever they wanted. The more exposure, the better.

UFC only allows fighters to do that type of thing if they have a fight scheduled, as they think it detracts from other fighter's fights.

The Pride model definitely allowed a greater rapport with individual fighters, as you got to see their characters and personalities a lot more.

Another big advantage Pride had was fighters weren't worried about getting cut.

If you fought with Bushido, you were coming back and I think that allowed more savage/courage in battle.

Anderson
Rampage
Nog
Werdum
Shogun

All PRIDE fighters who became UFC champs. Hendo, Hunt and Reem all fought for UFC titles and were highly ranked for many many years past their primes. Wanderlei had too much mileage, over 60 fights and many bareknuckle. Cro Cop had over 120 fights and unfortunately had a lot of injuries and surgeries from 2006 onwards.

There are still multiple PRIDE fighters in the UFC top 10, 10 years after PRIDE folded.

Fedor has the 2nd most ranked wins of any HW of all time, only behind Nog who he beat twice. So the cans argument is ridiculous. He has like double the amount of quality wins as Stipe, who uneducated UFC shills were calling the GOAT after beating a few old past prime HW's.

PRIDE and Strikeforce > UFC
Lawler (not pure Pride but eh)
Luke

TS is on bath salts again.

Shogun did destroy Forrest in the rematch and won the title inbetween, Nog and Rampage won the belt as well whilst Fedor essentially got two of the three biggest UFC HW's to leave the org to fight him.

You did though have a situation where a lot of the talent around as Pride died was naturally aging, fioghts who broke though around 99-01 and were very active were reaching the end of their best years.

If youir talking about Strikeforce fighters I would say quite the reverse, ex Strikfroce DC is HW and LHW champ, ex Strikeforce Rockhold was MW champ and ex Strikfroce Romero has fought for it recently. Strikeforce fighters tended to be younger and not as deep into their careers as ex Pride fighters and have played a massive role in the UFC in since the buyout, its the lack of replacements the UFC needs to worry about.

Brainwash has been trolling since 2012 and people are still taking the bait
