I hate this guy's guts, but tbf he had plenty of support and love in Spain from day one. Check the YouTube mma channels and podcasts, they have been Topuria - centered for a long while. Maybe he was not on the cover of Marca, but keep in mind that there are shitloads of athletes and competitions of all kinds in Spain and it is not easy to stand out. Hell, Joel Alvarez is Spanish born, made it to the ufc before Ilia and is a fantastic fighter too and he gets way less love than the Georgian dude. Other than in Asturias, I don't think anyone would even recognize him in the street.

Maybe if you were living under a rock. Literally everyone who follow mma in Spain knew him. It's the sport that is not followed. Nobody cares about ufc/mma they only want to follow stars. Most casuals only knew Conor and now follow Topuria. It's basically the same in every country.

I can't read what that user posted since I have him in my ignore list for being a retard, and I don't know of that accusations, however one thing that's true is that Topuria has had ties with Desokupa and Fuera Okupas which are some sort of anti-squatter "companies" in Spain whose owners and employees are mostly far right scum.

Spanish legislation is super-lax with squatting. In some cities flat squatting is conducted as a extortion practice and by drug gangs to gain temporary basis to conduct bussines. I refuse to buy property in Spain and not very familiar as how these people act, but I think that, since they cannot legally kick the squatters, they agree with the condominum adminstrators to estabish "access controls" to harass them, but again I don't know much about it.
