This is a GREAT post and this is the EXACT criteria needed when picking your GOAT.. the only part i dont agree with is Fedor #1.. it should be GSP then Fedor.

Yes, silly hyperbole in the Conor passages... so now the Aldo KO was with 12 seconds? Next month it will be 11 seconds.

Why mess up your credibility with such a stupid exaggeration?

    Thread fails.

Notice how no one is making multiple threads a day explaining why GSP is goat? Yeah, because GSP fans know hes the GOAT. Fedor fans are trying to convince everyone after GSP easily claimed the goat title. No serious fan is ranking Fedor above GSP

Actually a lot of people are ever since he beat Bisping.

All the fighters say Fedor is the GOAT.

We have a poll on here and Fedor wins it every year.

Anyone who has watched MMA for at least 15 years would likely regard Fedor and GSP as the 2 best ever. I give Fedor a slight edge for 10 years undefeated, fighting bigger guys, fighting more dangerous opponents, showing more methods to win a fight.

GSP is a close 2nd. He went 7 years undefeated and shut all his opponents down.

Its kinda hard to avenge your losses when you lose in your 11th year unlike GSP who lost in like his first few years of fighting. He beat Hughes and Serra in rematches.

Nog was the #2 guy for like 6 years. Cro Cop was #3 for 6 years. They were knocking other contenders down the ladder like Werdum, Sergei, Barnett and Aleks.

You must be counting Hardy, Serra and BJ in those 18 top 5 wins. It sure is easier to be ranked at WW than HW isn't it?

That 0-1 fake wrestler was Fedor's 5th fight that year. He got paid big to smash Nagata at Inoki show. Should he have just stayed home for a whole year like Stipe is doing now? No, Fedor had already fought 4 times that year but took that extra fight to make money.

You must not know anything about making money. Does your mom pay for everything? We can't fault the man for taking a 5th fight that year. He had a big contract dispute with PRIDE that NYE and that is why he fought Nagata that night. He probably made a million or 2 and still fought as many top guys as GSP did that year and the next year.

    Randleplex
    Arlvoski K.O
    Sylvia 36 seconds
    Right hand K.O against Rogers
    Brutal GnP on Big Nog
    Armbar on Mark Coleman

Fedor has so many memorable moments on top of being a dominant fighter.

Everyone loses at the end of their careers. GSP almost lost to Hendricks, retired and only beat Bisping in his comeback fight. Had he been fighting dangerous killers the last few years he likely would have lost.

Fedor and GSP.. I can't really pick between the 2, they are both true GOAT's. They both have very long win streaks and actually defended their belts many times unlike a lot of fighters these days!.

Its a sad shame about Jon Jones, because I genuinely think he is very talented and skilled, he is so creative as a fighter. And I think he could have been undefeated for a long time, But all the drug issues is such a sad destruction

Anyone at this point picking Fedor over GSP is simply odd and illogical.

Fedor is definitely a top 5 of all time fighter simply based on his number of wins and his domination of a single weight class for years but many of his wins were against far past prime fighters, undersized fighters or can freak fights.

Not a knock against Fedor, he fought who the orgs set up for him but his win resume isn't even close to GSP's. GSP fought more top 5 and top 10 talent in his career than Fedor ever did.

Yes Fedor finished many opponents (but ironically the two best guys he beat, Crocrop and Big Nog were decision wins..) but heavyweights have a higher finish ratio than welterweights and the better the competition, the harder it is to finish them. GSP fought guys that were notoriously difficult to finish, Condit, Shields, Diaz, etc and all in their prime. Fedor armbarring a 40 year old Mark Coleman (a heavily roided fighter with zero cardio and almost no BJJ, I mean come on Hammer House had no clue what BJJ was) or KO'ing a glass jawed Andrei Arlovski who holds the record in the UFC for most KO losses isn't really indicative of the level of guys he was facing.

Fedor should be number 2 especially with Silva's drug test failures but to put him above GSP doesn't make sense. Heavyweight has always been a shallow weight class (just look at the current UFC HW roster for an example) while Welterweight has always been a murderer's row (along with LW).

    GSP #1
    Fedor #2
#3? I'd go with Aldo despite his recent losses
#4 MM I guess although his weight class is very weak and he fled 135 and never avenged his two losses

Below these guys, no clue. There are guys that can get there in a few years with the right performances, TJ Dillinshaw for one if he keeps winning (And especially if he drops down and wipes out MM).

Conor should not be on any GOAT discussion list for a variety of good reasons.

Fedor fought tougher people with a more violent ruleset. That alone puts him above the rest. His losses came after a long reign.

Stopped reading here. Fuck off with this bullshit. Prime Fedor was 235LBs. About the same weight as Werdum, JDS, Cain, Cro Cop, Nog, Randy and almost every great HW. Hell allot of Fedors toughest fights were vs guys he outweighed

Fedor fought dangerous opponents (it HW) but HW has always been the least skilled mens division

Look at the people Fedor has lost too recently.

Mitrione- A journeyman in the UFC
Silva- A decent fighter but not exactly a world beater
Henderson- A MW and one of the best of all time, but has 10 years on Fedor and was outweighed significantly. Has looked very beatable in the UFC against guys his own size

Should have lost to fucking Fabio Maldonado but Russia gonna Russia.

At least GSP almost lost to a top 5 guy.

I prefered the all out wars the HWs put on during those years as opposed to some of the point fighting we have now. Thats not to say there havent been some great fights in this era,
