Fedor fought 5 times in 2003.

3 hard opponents and 2 extra fights to make money (one was actually a favor)

He fought three weeks after winning the world title from Nog. THREE WEEKS! Could you imagine any UFC champ doing that? He went to Lithuania to fight on their card as a favor to his contacts and smashed that dude.

He fought at the Inoki show on NYE that year versus Nagata. It wasn't even PRIDE. Fedor had a contract dispute with PRIDE and ended up fighting for Inoki to make big money to smash Nagata.

You can laugh all you want about Nagata as an opponent but Fedor grew up very poor. We can't fault the man for taking one extra fight. He had already fought 4 times that year! Should he have not accepted that paycheck and stayed home and just take a whole year off like Stipe is doing now??

No. He took that extra fight to make money. I wish we could see Stipe fight 5 times in a year, even if 2 are cans. Look at Werdum fighting Walt Harris and Tybura. To me he is a warrior staying active and taking risks but you same damn kids will probably nitpick his record one day too and say he fought cans!

Wrong. Fedor could compete at a high level regardless of were the fight took place. Fedor vs Crocop illustrated that point quite nicely.

Fedor > GSP > Aldo if he reclaims the belt. Tony Ferguson if he can get some defenses...

That's a ridiculous comparison. Mark Hunt was 5-7 in PRIDE/DREAM and was a HW title contender in the UFC recently, not to mention he is basically 1 big win away from fighting for the title.

Fedor was well past his prime and Hendo was all jacked up on TRT.

GSP was 26 and in the absolute peak of his athletic ability.

    Sit yo ass down kiddo.

    (1) Compete in the best organization of the sport
    (2) Consecutive winning streak
    (3) Quality of opponent (opponent's record at the time of the fight)
    (4) Finishing ratio.

All facts, only one subjective criteria "compete in the best organization of the sport," but still a pretty strong criteria. We can't have bums winning 100 fights in some no name league in China being GOATs. LOL

He has wins over 5 UFC HW champions.

I guess UFC is full of cans.

He went 10 years undefeated as an undersized HW and has a shit load of top 5 and top 10 wins.

I guess all of MMA is full of cans.

    Go away troll.

1)PRIDE had best HW division. UFC had best WW division. Fedor and GSP win
2)fedor went 10 years and I believe 33 fight winning streak. Fedor wins this easily
3)fedor fought just as many top fighters as GSP and Anderson. He also took some extra fights in between to make money. Hendo, Nog, GSP and Fedor probably have the beat resumes of all time
    4) fedor probably finished more fighters than GSP. DJ also finishes a lot of fighters. Fedor definitely had more ways to win than anyone. Standing KO, GNP, sub from top, sub from bottom, decision from outgrappling, decision from outstriking.

    Overall: Fedor

Regardless, the UFC is the best organization today, so the GOAT can only be a fighter who fought in the UFC.

Also, you can't compare a fighter who spent his best years in a ring to one who only fought in a cage. Those are two different playing fields, and they have a major impact on how a fight is lost or won.

The best comparison tool is one with the least confounding factors as possible.

How can you compare Fedor to GSP, when Fedor was only good inside a ring, and GSP spent his entire career inside a cage? You can't ignore the difference in the playing fields.
