And yet his only loss in the UFC was to Ilia Topuria. At the time it was a loss to a "nobody." Now that Ilia has destroyed his way to the belt and decapitating Volk tonight, the loss isn't that bad now that you look at it
Everyone was quick to jump on the wagon and shit on Ryan on being one dimensional and was exposed when he lost to Topuria. Even at the time, TOpuria was dangerous and did come from a go BJJ background and showed very good ground skills, with numerous submission finishes.
After flatlining...
I understand your frustration. However, I can also understand from their point of view for no-gi. You have 15 years of judo, and your black belt. Was the no-gi class an advanced no go class? Sometimes there are no gi classes that are exclusively an advanced level class where they may focus on...
That is such an unfortunate situation to be with a black stabbing manager. I understand the mentality of taking on all comers due to increasing your opportunities since your main competition can be a smaller pool at home.
Do you live in Hawaii?
At the cost of liability insurance alone, is it even worth running something like an open mat only school? It would probably be much cheaper than a normal bjj school, also meaning likely you'd need double or triple the amount of consistent monthly paying members to stay afloat, much less make...
Not sure how it would work but making cheaper with open mat times all day sounds like a great way to attract all the gym rejects from the local schools, and the ones who think standard BJJ schools charging what they charge is a crime
Also sounds kind of like a liability issue if someone gets...
Did you meant to say "exception?" Can't even get your words right just like your terrible example
Kron comes from the side that believes all their jiujitsu is geared for fighting and should be translated easily. All the guys I listed are all sport BJJ guys with extensive sport BJJ backgrounds...
What a stupid comment. Kron hasn't been relevant in sport BJJ/grapplng for a long time.
So Gilbert Burns, Beneil Dariush, Demian Maia, Jacare, and the like need to be in for a huge transformation to be good at MMA? Just because one fighter didn't perform well means you lump them all in one...
Yes, he does have a losing record but Hooker is the only one he fought who wasn't some type of title holder. The other 4 fights are all against former interim or undisputed champions.
I was found it quite odd that while he was the grappling coach at Xtreme Couture, a large portion of the fighters would go out to train with Drysdale for their grappling and hardly any of the went with Neil
Doesn't make sense to me how you can be too compromised or injured to compete but good...
Never seen much of Priit's stuff, but I hear a lot about it. How is he well known and popular? Not rally a competitor as far as I know nor does behave any skilled students. What's his background and lineage? How did he get so known for his system? He is labeled as a "defensive expert" but with a...
amazing. everything is at sometime considered "dead" until everyone forgets about it and they make a comeback
with BJJ and guardwork, its taking s lot longer to make a comeback since the rules favor short 5 minute rounds, frequent referee standups, and incentive to not fight on the ground
that was a tough one to predict. Shaolin was near the end of his career at that point. That eye injury he got from the JZ Calvacnti fight was really tough on him
Francis was able to KO (lucky is debatable) Jair Rozenstruick who is 85-8 in kickboxing in a heavier weight class.Francis also has shown more groundwork and GnP than Izzy and probably can and will take down Alex if needed
